This is my cover for an Edgar Allan Poe poetry book. I just used a brush to paint over the tree and insert the text. I then changed the color and size of the text to follow the tree. I used a gradient for the background and an ellipse shape for the hill. For the sun I used the Flare Tool, found under the standard shapes. The small text is easier to see with the full image.
